T-Mobile USA has gotten official with the launch details for its new G2xsmartphone that was announced at CTIA Wireless last month.
As posted to T-Mobile’s official blog and Twitter account, the Android 2.2-based handheld will retail for $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and with the signing of a two-year service agreement. It will pop up online first next week on April 15, followed by a launch in stores on April 20. Perhaps T-Mobile is hinting for you to buy something with your tax refund?
In case you’re not familiar with the LG-made G2x, the smartphone runs on a NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz dual-core processor, and T-Mobile also promises theoretical 4G speeds of up to 14.4Mbps on the HSPA+ network.
Other specs include:
- 4-inch touch screen (480 x 800 resolution)
- 512 MB RAM
- 8GB of onboard memory
- microSD card slot (supports up to 32GB)
- Bluetooth 2.1
- 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and autofocus
- 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera with T-Mobile Video Chat app
- 1080p HD video recorder
- Adobe Flash and DLNA support
- Built-in accelerometer and gyro sensor
- 3.5mm headphone jack
